Born and raised in Makaha on the Westside of the Hawaiian Island of Oahu,
Duane first surfed with his Dad Manny and Uncle Bruce at the age of 4. At the time, it probably wasn’t clear to Duane that he would develop into one of the world’s foremost big wave longboarders and make a living from something he loves so much. Duane has been part of OXBOW Clothing since 1993 and just recently joined the OXBOW Surfboard team. As a professional surfer he sends his time surfing the globe for his sponsors and loves nothing better than spending time surfing with his wife and children at his home break of Makaha.
